Sports Medicine

Our sports medicine specialists provide expert diagnosis and treatment to make sure you return to your sport as quickly and safely as possible

Sports Medicine

Our sports medicine program is made up of a team of orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, exercise physiologists and athletic trainers. When injuries occur, this team provides prompt diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation to make sure you return to your sport as quickly and safely as possible.

We also have educational programs, for players, parents and coaches, fitness programs, sports-specific training programs and state-of-the-art fitness and sports conditioning facilities.

Sports Medicine Physicians

Our orthopedic surgeons are specially educated in diagnosing and treating sports-related injuries. The most common sports injuries include ligament sprains and tears in the knees and legs, and rotator cuff tears and other shoulder injuries. Other commonly treated conditions are cartilage injuries, joint instability, overuse injuries, muscle weakness, and injuries to the back, foot and ankle, and hand and wrist.

We offer convenient MRI, X-ray and bone imaging services, and surgical and nonsurgical treatments. If you need surgery, our surgeons perform a wide variety of surgeries, from reconstruction of the knee and total knee replacement, to shoulder reconstruction.

Arthroscopic Surgery

Our surgeons are experienced in arthroscopic surgery, an advanced surgical technique that provides you with faster healing and recovery time for many sports medicine injuries.

Surgery once required large incisions and long recovery times—but not anymore. Our surgeons use a fiber-optic instrument called an arthroscope. They insert it through a small incision, allowing them to view and repair a joint’s interior structure. We use this minimally invasive technique to perform procedures on the wrist, elbow, shoulder, ankle, knee or hip.

Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation is an important part of sports medicine care, whether or not you've had surgery. We have physical therapists, exercise physiologists, certified hand therapists and certified strength and conditioning specialists who will tailor a rehabilitation program to your needs and make sure you're ready to return to your sport.
